Essay

The dissertation is devoted to the study of the musical and theatrical heritage of the playwright Bjørnstjerne Bjørnson and the composer Edvard Grieg in the aspect of the formation and development of Norwegian national artistic traditions. The history of the creative friendship of B.Bjørnson and E.Grieg is considered, the leading national concept of their work is established. A diverse genre palette of Norwegian theatrical opuses was explored. The national dominants of all theatrical works of the authors were found. Conclusion is made regarding the interpretation of B.Bjørnson - E.Grieg’ musical and dramatic works as a unique phenomenon of the collective author's theater of two artists.
