Essay

In the dissertation thesis on the basis of the analysis of sources, achievements of predecessors, modern methodology, the domestic scientific and historical discourse of the second half of the XX – beginning of the XXI centuries the material and human resources of agriculture in Ukraine during the age of «Khrushchev Thaw» were studied on. In this regard, the work traces the formation of historical knowledge on the issues of material, technical and personnel support of the Ukrainian village of 1953 – 1964. The change in research priorities during the Brezhnev period is shown, as well as the effect of “restructuring” on the historiographical assessment of the problem. The state of modern domestic historiography on the material and human resources of agricultural production in Ukraine in 1953 – 1964 was characterized. In historiography, there are at least seven large-scale programs that N. Khrushchev pushed through in the agrarian and peasant question, and which influenced the material and personnel support of the Ukrainian village. These include: Virgin Lands Campaign; Сorn Campaign; the development of lands of black steam and grass sowing; a sharp increase in times of livestock products; the consolidation of collective farms, and then – their transformation into state farms (Soviet farms, as structures formerly state, and only then collective) policies for the development of personal backyards of the peasants; optimization of agriculture management and its staffing.
