Essay

The dissertation basis on the study of legislation, literary sources, the results of the generalization of investigative and judicial practice, a comprehensive study was carried out on the conduct of procedural actions in the mode of videoconference in criminal proceedings. The historical and legal preconditions of the formation and development of the videoconference regime in criminal proceedings are considered. It is argued that one of the most important requirements during conducting procedural actions in the video conferencing mode is information security, which should be ensured by the subjects conducting these actions during the pre-trial investigation in remote mode. They should ensure the protection of information and its infrastructure supporting against accidental or intentional effects of a natural or artificial nature that may harm the criminal proceedings, lead to the disclosure of the secrecy of the pre-trial investigation, the content of testimony given during investigative (investigative) actions, especially data on persons who are under state protection, etc. It is noted that law enforcement agencies should be provided with special software and a separate communication line, which will allow to provide information security during conducting investigative (search) actions in the video conferencing mode.
