Essay

The thesis deals with the investigation of the clinical features of 1st and 2nd degree generalized periodontitis in individuals from 18 to 59 years old living in environmentally polluted areas of Prykarpattia. The intensity of inflammatory processes in periodontal tissues was found to increase depending on the severity of generalized periodontitis, which is confirmed by the data of paraclinic indices. Clinical features of periodontal tissue disease in residents of Kalush and surrounding villages have been established. Deterioration of hygiene, periodontal, papillary marginal alveolar and bleeding indices were revealed. Radiological disruption of cortical plate integrity and resorption of interdental septa of the collar bone up to 1/3 - 1/2 of root length were found. According to the clinical studies results, the prevalence rate of this disease in persons at working age of 18-44 is 70%. After our early and long term treatment we managed to stabilize the level of TBAP, OMP and to restore the activity of antioxidant protection enzymes (APE). By comparing different methods of complex therapy of GP, the best result was found in the group of patients who used courses of laser irradiation, which was more effective than traditional treatment. On the basis of the results of the clinical course of 1st and 2nd degree generalized periodontitis, a treatment-and-prophylactic complex for patients with generalized periodontitis and an algorithm for preventing inflammatory-destructive periodontal changes have been developed. Clinical observations and obtained results analysis indicate the high efficacy of the proposed complexes. This allows to recommend them for use in practical dentistry. Key words: generalized periodontitis, environmentally polluted areas, treatment-and-prophylactic complex. Branch-Medicine.
