The dissertation is devoted to the research and disclosure of the concept of symbolism in Ukrainian instrumental music of the 20th century, in particular in the chamber sonatas of V. Kosenko, I. Karabits, B. Lyatoshinsky and M. Skoryk. Structure of the symbolic elements and the search for new meanings of works of Western European (J. S. Bach, M. Čiurlionis) and East European composer heritage (O. Skriabin).
