Essay

The theoretical, as well as the agronomic and economic essence of the concept of irrigation system was investigated. On the basis of the research, a methodical approach and a methodology for assessing the feasibility of designing and implementing an irrigation project were developed. The analysis of climate change in Ukraine and their influence on the dynamics of changes in the amount of irrigated land area under the main crops is carried out. The value of investment in irrigation equipment was estimated. The role of irrigation as the most influential factor in ensuring a stable crop yield of agricultural enterprises under the conditions of global climate change and ensuring sustainable economic development is substantiated. A methodical approach to substantiate the effectiveness of an irrigation project is developed, based on a set of related factors: climate analysis; analysis of soil-hydrological conditions and terrain; estimation of the location of the irrigation area in relation to the resource sources (water, electricity, service and auxiliary objects); cost analysis for land preparation for irrigation; estimation of the cost of the irrigation system; estimation of project operating costs; assessment of the financial and economic performance of the irrigation system. The simulation of the irrigation system implementation in the agricultural enterprise was carried out, which made it possible to calculate the probable variants of the project development under the conditions of changing the three most influential factors: water needs; yields; prices for manufactured products.
