This thesis is devoted to the study of the structural-semantic aspects of the professional language of robotics in German. It is established that the German-language terminology is marked by lexical neutrality at the morphological and syntactic levels. German terms of robotics are characterized by peculiar lexico-semantic relations of synonymy, antonymy, metaphors. In the course of study, the conceptual apparatus was identified as well as the research methodology of the selection based on the terminology of the German professional texts of robotics was determined. In the thesis, the role and place of terminology of robotics in the professional language of modern German are revealed; a thematic classification of this terminology has been developed. The lexical-semantic relations are highlighted in German-language terminology of robotics, as well as syntactic, morphological and semantic features of various types of professional texts of robotics. The study analyses the functional characteristics of the German professional language of robotics and defines the internal and external resources of the language replenishment in the course of nomination of the concepts of robotics. The self-worked-out German-Ukrainian glossary of terms of robotics has been concluded. Robotics is an applied science that develops automated technical systems (robots). The German professional language of robotics is a collection of intersectoral, interdisciplinary and general scientific terms, professionalisms and jargons. The overwhelming majority compose the intersectoral terms. The German professional language of robotics is a complex linguistic phenomenon. Its analysis was created using various methods and techniques that require the analysis of components and elements of the distributive-statistical method. The latter are allowed to duplicate the findings of quantitative data, which ensured their accounting. The terminology of one or another branch of science and technology should be studied not only with the help of dictionaries, reference books and similar sources, but also in their functioning (for example, journal articles, monographs, textbooks, media texts, etc.), because only such study can become the basis for creating normative documents, for example, the collections of recommended terms. Detection of terminology should be based on a sample of special texts of different genres (journal articles, conference papers and patent descriptions). As a result of the analysis, 1670 terms were selected by the method of a continuous sampling of 16 professional sources (professional content in robotics) of 4 types: articles of popular newspapers, popular magazines, specialized journals and media texts with a total volume of 9752 pages, which is a text array with a total volume of 2103 million words. In order to provide a clear definition of the concept related to the term, 6 German-language glossaries of terminology were involved. The study of the structural-semantic and functional aspects of the German professional language of robotics makes a significant contribution to solving topical issues of modern terminology: the classification of new terms, the need for unification, standardization and the creation of terminological glossaries and dictionaries.
