The dissertation is a criminological study of domestic violence, as the results of which the criminological characteristics of this violence was provided, the offender, who commits domestic violence was analyzed, the determinants of domestic violence were established and measures to prevent it were proposed. Foreign experience of domestic violence prevention and its use in Ukraine were studied. The state and trends of domestic violence were shown; the features of victim behavior of family members were explored. The level of domestic violence was found to gradually increase every year during 2014–2019. The role of the police and the public in the prevention of domestic violence was analyzed.
