Levina G. Legal protection and use of rare and endangered wildlife species

The dissertation studies the features of legal regulation of the protection and use of rare and endangered wildlife species. The concept, content and species of these animals have been analyzed. The current state of legal regulation of their protection and use at the level of national legislation, foreign legislation and international law have been considered. Legal support problems associated with the conservation status of these animals in Ukraine have been studied. The legal nature, role and features of the Red Data Book of Ukraine and regional red lists in the protection of these animals have been discussed separately. Particular attention has been paid to highlighting the legal regulation of the limited use of rare and endangered species; research of the concept and features of their general and special use; detection of collisions in the legal regulation of the procedure for obtaining the special use permit for these animals. The unit devoted to the peculiarities of legal responsibility in the investigated sphere of legal relations is an integral part of the paper. As a result of the conducted research, the ways of improving the current legislation of Ukraine have been formulated to solve the identified problems in the field of legal regulation of protection and use of rare and endangered species of wild animals.
