Rubina. The results and novelty: for the first time, the prose of Ukrainian writer M. Matios and Russian-Israeli author D. Rubina became the subject of special scientific exploration through the lens of imagological discourse; for the first time, other peoples’ images are explored in the writers’ creative minds from the perspective of affirming or destroying ethnic stereotypes; a typology of character images of works by M. Matios and D. Rubina is considered as a dichotomy of “own – foreign” is constructed. Field of application: the materials of scientific research may be used in teaching particular issues of the courses of history of Ukrainian and foreign literatures, lectures on comparative literature studies, particularly on imagology, in higher and secondary education institutions, as well in scientific works to further develop these scientific disciplines.
