The place of the administrative contract in the mechanism of contractual regulation of administrative relations has been clarified. The legal aspects of the essence of the administrative contract are considered. The definition of the concept of an administrative agreement on scientific works of domestic and foreign scientists and its normative definition are given. The features that are typical for administrative contracts are defined. The classification of administrative contracts according to the criteria defined by the author has been developed. The administrative contract as a method of administrative law, as a form of implementation of law, as a form of public administration, as a form of state administration, a type of public-legal contract, a type of administrative act, a kind of form of public-private partnership, a kind of legal form of legal process are investigated. The legal principles of the use of administrative contracts, which are stipulated in the norms of administrative or other public legislation, the conditions under which a public administration entity has the right to exercise the administrative powers conferred on it in the form of an administrative contract have been clarified. The administrative contracts that are used to regulate the provision of administrative services are considered.
