An important task of improving the quality indices of fodder beet roots top gathering by means of developing and substantiating the parameters of operating elements of the top gathering module is solved in this thesis on the basis of generalized scientific results set. Top gathering module consists of the frame with mounted supporting wheels, rotary top cutter, auger, root heads cutter. Improvement of the operating elements is as follows: the knives of the rotary top cutter are of Г-type shape,; the auger spiral winding pitch increases towards the cut root top unloading; the plain knife of the root top remains cutter is mounted on fixed vertical pin and is spring loaded; the knife is active with possible reciprocating motion in horizontal plane; comb feeler is mounted on shock damper produced in the form of elastic element. Based on the complex to the results theoretical and experimental investigations the main parameters of the operating elements for improved top gathering module are justified. The investigation results are adopted by Private Joint-Stock Company “Rivnesilmash” (village Kvasyliv, Rivne region) for development and improvement of existing operating elements for fodder beet roots top gathering. Constructive novelty of engineering solution is confirmed by 2 Ukraine patents for useful models.
