Thesis for the scientific degree of Candidate of Medical Sciences in speciality 14.01.22 «Dentistry». - State Higher Educational University "Uzhhorod National University", Uzhhorod, 2019. The dissertation is devoted to the improvement of efficiency of restoration of class I carious cavities according to Black caries classification, with composite materials of light hardening by means of clinical - experimental substantiation of the optimization of their edge formation. It has been established a high prevalence of secondary caries in the population, which requires an increase in the volume of dentist work on repeated interventions. Priority approaches of dental professionals to the methods of formation of class I carious cavities for composite restorations are studied. The state of stress-deformation processes in the hard tissues of teeth with different design of the caries cavity edge was determined by the method of finite-element modeling. It is proved that when forming the enamel edge of carious cavities in the form of an external bevel, the integrity of the restoration material, its marginal adaptation and the results of clinical quality assessment have higher characteristics in comparison with the cavities of another edge design.
