Essay

The purpose of this work is developing experimental and methodical principles of diagnostics of concrete piles, which are embedded in soil and contain defects less than 50% of their cross-section. The dissertation is devoted to experimental research and mathematical modeling of the technical condition (TC) of reinforced concrete piles (RCP) with different types of cracks throughout the pile. For the first time after the method was developed and experimental researches were finished a new data about base condition of RCP with and without defects in the cross section using the recording of echoes of two types of waves were obtained. The numerical method for modeling wave processes in RCP is improved using the method of wave factorization. Due to using the database of experimental studies recorded by the TKC-1 and digital oscilloscope Metrix OX 8020, now it is possible to compare such factors as the type of hammer and the type of sensor in real conditions and evaluate their influence on the character of the signal. It is important for improving the existing methodologies for leading the nondestructive testing of RCP in the natural conditions. In addition, this experimental data and the results of mathematical modeling could give an experimental and theoretical basis for the creation of a methodology for evaluating the TC of RCP with defects that size is 30% and more of the square of pile’s cross-sectional area in the narrowest defective segment. Participation in developing of the three standards of the Ministry of Regional Development of Ukraine has been taken. These standards regard the determination of concrete’s strength of concrete and stay in actual status now.
