The object of study - the process of maintenance and repair of diesel engines of locomotives .. The theoretical part of the work is based on the methods of mathematical statistics, experiment planning, mathematical modeling. In the processing and analysis of experimental data, methods of probability theory and mathematical statistics were used. As a result of the researches, the laws that determine changes in the conditional cross-section of high-pressure pipelines and atomizers of nozzles with the runs and conditions of operation of locomotives are determined. Studies have been conducted to determine the efficiency of the indiscriminate cleaning method and the technology for removing carbon deposits from fuel systems has been developed. Their scope is locomotive depots and enterprises for the development of documentation for the repair of locomotives.
