Artemenko O. Improvement of methods and models of calculation of shunting locomotives due to introduction of modern energy saving technologies

Object of study - the process of warming shunting diesel locomotives in the cold season. The study was conducted using probability theory and mathematical statistics, modeling methods, solving differential equations and expert methods. The theory of heat and mass transfer and numerical methods of computer calculations were also used. As a result of the study, new scientifically substantiated methods for determining rational measures from the introduction of energy-saving technologies and a method for estimating the life cycle cost of a shunting diesel locomotive after energy-saving measures were carried out, a concept for modernizing diesel locomotives by improving their design with modern energy-saving units was proposed. The scope of their application is locomotive depots operating shunting diesel locomotives, as well as locomotive repair enterprises of the railway industry, performing repair and modernization of locomotives.
