Object – watersheds of the rivers of the Left-Bank Forest-Steppe; the goal is to determine the forest-taxation features of the stands and the actual and water conservation forest cover of the rivers of the Left-Bank Forest-Steppe; methods are mathematical-statistical and logical analysis of information materials; characterization of watersheds areas and forest-taxation indicators of stands at temporary sample plots using generally accepted methods in forestry, forest science, forest typology, forest taxation, soil science methods and applied computer programs for statistical data analysis; novelty - the actual and optimal water conservation forest cover has been determined and forestry-taxation features of the stands of the watersheds of the rivers of the Left-Bank Forest-Steppe have been identified; results - the typological diversity of forests at watersheds is analyzed; the proportion of derivative and root types of stands was determined in conditions of fresh maple-linden oak and fresh oak-pine subor at watersheds of the rivers; the degree of use of forest growth potential by artificial and natural pine and artificial oak stands on river watersheds was calculated. scope of application – forestry.
