Krynytska O. Forest-ecological principles of natural regeneration and formation of pine-oak forests in the conditions of the Lviv Roztochya

Object – Scots pine and common oak stands in fairly fertile site types in Lviv Roztochya; aim - revealing the dynamics of natural regeneration and formation of natural pine-oak stands in the fairly fertile site types in Lviv Roztochya under the influence of different methods of shelterwood felling; methods - silvicultural – establishment of sample plots; geobotanical – for revealing the species composition of the undergrowth; phytopathological – for characterization of phytopathogens; electrophysiological – for investigation of trees vitality; methods of wood science – for conducting the dendrochronological studies; microclimatic – for analysis of microclimate indicators; agrochemical – for determination of physical and chemical properties of the soil; statistical – for processing of experimental data; novelty – regularities of the formation of natural pine-oak stands composition, as well as peculiarities of changes in physical and chemical properties of the soil, were revealed, the accumulation of forest floor and litterfall under the influence of different methods of gradual felling were described; results – the forest management system of reproduction and formation of productive and biotically-resistant pine-oak stands on principles of close-to-nature forestry have been refined; scope of application - forestry.
