Essay

The thesis is devoted to the complex study of the peculiarities of the functioning of ethnocultural vocabulary in Turkish poetry of the 20th century. Anthropocentric orientation of modern linguistics has become fundamental to the thesis. Based on the works of Ukrainian and foreign scientists, from classical works (V. F. Humboldt, O. O. Potebnya, etc.) to modern Ukrainian researchers (I. O. Golubovska, V. V. Zhayvoronok, O. O. Selivanova, N. V. Sluhay, O. S. Snitko, etc.), ethnocultural vocabulary has been examined by means of anthropocentric linguistics, linguistic personality, ethnolinguistics, linguistic and cultural studies, which provide a strategy of research that is closely related to culture, history, mentality and creativity of a certain ethnic group. Among a number of methods used by ethnolinguistics, a complex combination of descriptive and quantitative methods, a stylistic method, a contextual-interpretation method, and also a lexicographic comparison, a linguistic and cultural commentary, and a defining-context analysis of lexemes have been used.
