Historical and legal analysis of the establishment and development of the legal status of the Security Police has been carried out in this Thesis. The place of the Security Police in the system of law enforcement agencies of Ukraine has been determined. The concept and the structure of the administrative and legal status of the Security Police have been provided. The legal principles of the activities of the Security Police have been defined. The rights and responsibilities of the Security Police in Ukraine have been characterized. Legal responsibility as the element of the legal status of the Security Police in Ukraine has been investigated. Foreign experience of administrative and legal regulation of the status of the Security Police has been summarized and possibility of its applying in Ukraine has been determined. The ways of improving legal guarantees of the Security Police activity have been outlined. The ways of improving the measures to ensure the implementation of the administrative and legal status of the Security Police in Ukraine have been determined.
