Essay

The scientific problem of increasing auger mechanisms functionality by the development and justification of the parameters of a root crops screw conveyorshredder was solved in thesis. The shredder conveyor shredder consists of a casing with a hopper attached on top. The auger is installed in the housing, which can be placed at an angle to the horizon. The auger is made in the form of a drive shaft where the drum is mounted on. Spiral turns are fixed to the drive shaft drum along a helical line. Plate G-shaped knives are radially mounted on the tuner and after sides of the spiral turns relatively to the direction of roots movement. Expand of combined auger conveyor-shredder functionality was achieved by simultaneous combination of two separate operations: shredding and moving the shredded parts of the root auger into one adjacent operation. According to the results of theoretical and experimental studies, the basic rational parameters of the auger conveyor-shredder are established: the hopper height is 0,6 m; screw diameter – 0,25 m; screw speed – 160 rpm; pitch turn – 0,15 m; number of knives installed – 5 pcs. The annual economic effect achieved by increasing the technological capabilities of the auger conveyor-shredder is UAH 122090,7. Constructive novelty of the technical solution is protected by 1 patent for Ukraine utility model. Researches’ results are implemented at the PAP Agroprodservice company in the technological line of feed preparation.
