The dissertation is devoted to the research of the genesis of theoretical ideas and legislation on significant violations of the requirements of the criminal procedure law; establishment of methodological bases of research of system of essential violations of requirements of the criminal procedural law as the basis for cancellation or change of the judicial decision; formulation of the concept and definition of the legal nature of significant violations of the requirements of the criminal procedural law as the bases for revocation or change of the judicial decision; identification of types of significant violations of the requirements of the criminal procedural law as grounds for revocation or change of the judicial decision; selection of forms of significant violations of the requirements of the criminal procedure law as an unconditional ground for revocation of a court decision; development of proposals and recommendations for improving the legislation and practice of its application in the context of the issues studied in the present research.
