Gorokhivska Y. Treatment of children teeth crowding in the period of temporary and mixed occlusion

Monitoring the prevalence and structure of dentoalveolar anomalies in the same school-age children over nine-year observation period showed that majority of dentoalveolar deformities in children appear during the mixed occlusion and remain constant, which indicates the need to begin treatment of children from this period. Morphological studies on animals have shown that eruption is inextricably linked to the parallel process of the future alveolar bone formation. For the treatment of dentoalveolar anomalies in children in an early mixed dentition, a method for fixing the orthodontic expanding appliance, treatment and prophylactic support complex have been developed. All children 6-7 years old who fully underwent a course of complex orthodontic treatment using removable orthodontic appliance had a 100% effect of eliminating teeth crowding of a permanent bite. Over 2 years of observation in main group of children with moderate dental caries, carioprophylactic efficacy was 38.4%, prevalence of periodontal tissue inflammation decreased, hygiene indices, calcium and phosphorus content in the oral liquid, lysozyme, catalase activity, urease activity, elastase and malonic dialdehyde content normalised, permeability of gum and degree of inflammation decreased, increased acid resistance of tooth enamel and its electrical resistance.
