Kobets N. Slovak-Ukrainian dialogue: literary dimension

The theoretical section of the work is devoted to the characteristics of historical-literary and theoretical-methodological issues of Ukrainian-Slovak literary relations, elucidation of the influence of historical and political factors on the origin and development of Ukrainian-Slovak literary contacts. The historical stages of Slovak Ukrainian studies and Ukrainian philological Slovak studies are covered separately. The dissertation analyzes and systematizes the actual problems of Ukrainian and Slovak philological Slavic studies on the basis of comparative studies of scientific works and literary texts of both nations. The main historical stages of the formation and development of Ukrainian-Slovak and Slovak-Ukrainian literary and scientific relations are identified and characterized. The state, achievements and prospects of scientific philological studies of the development of cultural and historical relations between the Slovak and Ukrainian peoples in synchrony and diachrony are noted. The specificity of artistic reflections of the mental realities of Ukrainian life in the works of Slovak writers - D. Krman, B. Nosak-Nezabudov, J. Banas was studied. The features of the artistic reception of the socio-political and cultural-historical realities of the life of Slovakia in the poetic and prose heritage of Ukrainian writers of the 15th - early 21st centuries are investigated.
