Essay

Based on the Tymoshenko's shear model an analytical and numerical method for solving a quasi-static problem of thermoelasticity for shells with various lengths, the material of which has low shear stiffness, has been proposed. A number of thermoelasticity problems was solved for shells in the local heat fields with the time-varying output, which are active in a wide range of applicable heating modes. The influence of shear stiffness of the shell material on the level of computed values for critical values of the time and for the asymptotic state of the heating has been investigated.
