Severyn L. Prevention and treatment of multiple caries of temporary teeth in young children with diseases of the respiratory system

The dissertation presents the data of experimental, laboratory and clinical substantiation of solving the task of the pediatric dentistry problem, namely, improving the level of dental health in young children with respiratory diseases by creating a comprehensive approach to the diagnosis with a pediatrician and staged dental treatment for this group of patients with major risk factors. The indicators of the oral cavity, hard tissues of teeth, pulp and oral fluid are significantly worse in young children with respiratory diseases than in healthy children. The stage-by-stage treatment-and-prophylactic complex in children with respiratory diseases promoted normalization of lysozyme and urease activity (p<0.05), calcium and phosphorus content in oral fluid (p<0.05) and, as a consequence, increased mineralization potential, normalized the degree of dysbiosis, which positively influenced the dental health of this contingent of children. After a year of observation, the reduction in caries growth in the group with respiratory diseases was 86.5%.
