The thesis is dedicated to the study of structural-semantic and functional features of the German language for special purposes of industrial automation. The theoretical and methodological foundations of studying professional languages and terminology are described, the history of the terminology development for the German language for special purposes of industrial automation are highlighted, the main stages of its formation are determined and the factors influencing the formation of the analyzed terminology in German are identified. The terminology is considered as a thesaurus taking into account the organization of the field of special knowledge, the terminological field of the term and the establishment of semantic relations between the terms. It has been established that paradigmatic relations such as polysemy, homonymy are typical for the corpus of the analyzed language for specific purposes. The genetic sources of the German language for special purposes of industrial automation terms and terminology are established. The typology of texts of the German language for special purposes of industrial automation is proposed, their structural-compositional, morphological and syntactic properties are characterized, and the terminological saturation of German professional texts of industrial automation is considered.
