Rezmaq M. Diagnostic value of the activity of matrix metalloproteinases in patients with a maxillary sinus cyst

The thes is aims to improve the accuracy of differential diagnosis of cyst softhe maxillary sinus of odontogenic and rhinogenic genesis. The study determined the content of MMP-9 in the preoperative period in saliva, blood serum, in the cyst membrane, which was removed from the maxillary sinus, and also analyzed the long-term results of the treatment. CT data wasanalyzed in patients with a cyst of the maxillary sinus of rhinogenic and odontogenic origin. The activity of MMP-9 in the shell of the maxillary sinus cyst was determined. The data about the activity of MMP sin the cysts of the maxillary sinus and the mucous membrane of the lower nasal concha are compared with the CT data of the sinuses and upper jaw. A method has been developed for submucosal removal of a maxillary sinus cyst through the lower nasal passage. The data obtained in the study of cyst recurrence and the development of an other pathology of the maxillary sinus in the long-term postoperative period suggests a relationship between the pathology of the maxillary sinus and the latent course of chronic periodontitis.
