Structural and functional model of formation digital competence of the future teachers of higher educational institutions that consists of methodological, structural-semantic, operational-activity and diagnostic-effective blocks is theoretically substantiated and developed in the thesis. The core of structural and functional model is a complex of organizational and pedagogical conditions of formation of digital competence future teachers of higher educational institutions: digitalization of the educational space of the university, that provides the undergraduates formation of positive motivation to master digital competence; modeling by the undergraduates the pedagogical activity of the teacher saturated with the usage of digital means of training; the development of masters' abilities to work with digital resources and teaching aids. The basic invariants of digital competence of teachers of higher educational institutions in the form of the following abilities are highlighted: information (ability to search, understand, process, organize and archive digital information, its critical thinking); communicative (ability to communicate online with colleagues and students in various forms); cognitive (ability to create, develop and apply in the process of professional educational activity content with the usage a digital resource); safety-value (the ability to use computers, software, computer training programs in professional activities safely and adhere to academic integrity).
