Essay

The dissertation is devoted to the genre of solo cantata of the European tradition in its historical development from the XVII to XX centuries. It is proved that solo cantata is one of the full-fledged, independent and stable genres of vocal-instrumental music. The work proposes the formalization of the genre invariant of solo cantata the continuity of the evolution of the genre in historical development has been clarified and demonstrated. The gradual and hereditary creation of the genre invariant is revealed through the stage of origin, formation and stabilization in Baroque Italy and the subsequent development and adaptation in next historical periods outside Italy, in the territory of Austria during the period of the First Viennese School (Viennese classical era/art), France of the first half of the nineteenth century and Ukraine in the last third of the twentieth century.
