Essay

The dissertation is devoted to a comprehensive analysis of the theopolitical concepts of a new theological movement – radical orthodoxy. For the first time, a holistic study of the political theology of radical orthodoxy was carried out, in particular, the theopolitical concepts of its most influential representatives J. Milbank, A. Pabst and V. Cavanaugh. As part of the study, the main ideas of the key theologians of the current were generalized and systematized, as well as a critical analysis of their projects for building a new political structure was carried out. The prerequisites for the formation and features of its theological approaches are determined. The strengths and weaknesses of the concepts of John Milbank, Adrian Pabst and William Cavanaugh are shown. A significant critical potential of the thought of radical orthodox people in the context of rethinking secularism as a modern construct is revealed. It has been established that the general basic thesis of the political theology of the authors is the view of a person as ontologically inclined towards peaceful interaction in society, rather than in a conflict one. In the context of the search for a solution to the meta-crises of our time, an alternative project of post-liberal political theology proposed by J. Milbank and A. Pabst has been investigated, which aims to return the value and ethical dimensions to political and social relations. As a result of the analysis of V. Cavanaugh's political-ecclesial concept, it was established that the anarchist ideas defended by the author and his constitution of the church as an alternative political space is of an isolationist nature. In the course of the study, the main directions of criticism of the theo-political concepts of radical orthodox people were traced, as well as a rethinking of their individual aspects was proposed.
