Essay

The dissertation is devoted to the study of the peculiarities of metabolic processes in rats of different age exposed to secondhand tobacco smoke, monosodium glutamate and their combined use. It was established, that secondhand tobacco smoke combined with monosodium glutamate introduction is accompanied by more pronounced changes in the functional status of the liver, proteinase-proteinase inhibitor system, oxidative modification of proteins, cytokine profile, severity of inflammation and endogenous intoxication and morphological structure of the liver of rats compared to those who exposed to isolated tobacco smoke. In the age comparison of changes, their probable prevalence in immature rats was determined under the condition of the isolated influence of tobacco smoke and under the condition of secondhand tobacco smoke combined with the monosodium glutamate introduction. The greatest number of high-strength correlations was found between the indices of liver functional status and relative volume of damaged hepatocytes in immature rats confirming the interdependence of biochemical and structural changes in liver damage.
