The dissertation carried out a comprehensive study of the legal, theoretical and organizational-tactical foundations of forensic maintenance for the investigation of Cash and Valuables in Transit (CVIT) staff robberies, taking into account the regulatory provisions of the current criminal procedural legislation. The robbery attacks on CVIT staff were characterized and the structure of the forensic characteristics was developed, including but not limited to the subject of the criminal attack and the methods, situation, the traces’ picture and typology of persons committing those crimes. The problematic aspects of identifying and starting the pre-trial investigation of criminal proceedings on robbery attacks on CVIT staff were examined.The typical investigative situations and the main directions of the investigation were highlighted. The possibilities of interaction between the investigator and the agents of criminal intelligence units and the use of materials from operational-search activities in the process of investigating robbery attacks on CVIT officers were determined. The features of tactical and forensic maintenance of investigative (search) actions and covert investigative (search) actions in the investigation of robbery attacks on CVIT officers were disclosed; the forms of using special knowledge under such conditions were analyzed.
