Polshchak A. Fictional prose of Francois Mauriac in the context of the “Catholic Revival”

The thesis analyzes such aspects of F. Mauriac’s works as main concepts, metaphors (from the point of view of the modern 20th century metaphor theory) in fictional prose, intermedial research of fine art in the course of the “religious revival” as well as similar styles and musical compositions of the composers, who have the inclination to revive the eternal themes in modernity in the context of the French Catholic Revival and Mauriac’s creed and poetical peculiarities. The research of F. Mauriac’s heritage in new aspects and with modern approaches gives the opportunity to see the artist’s writings from the new points of view, which deepen the understanding of the links of the writer’s masterpieces with the context of the French Catholic Revival.
