Tertychna A. Public Diplomacy in Relations between Ukraine and Bulgaria (1991-2018).

The thesis is dedicated to the establishment of public diplomacy and cultural diplomacy as a part thereof in the relations with Bulgaria following the restoration of Ukraine's state independence. The time period from 1991 till 2018 has been chosen as the dynamics of relations between Ukraine and Bulgaria are considered from the perspective of public diplomacy from the establishment/ resumption of diplomatic relations till 2018 when the 100th anniversary of recognition of the independence of the Ukrainian People's Republic (UPR) by the Kingdom of Bulgaria was celebrated at the national level. The analysis of the public component of current diplomatic relations between Ukraine and Bulgaria allows for distinguishing three key phases of evolution of Ukraine's public diplomacy in Bulgaria. The first phase is related to the establishment, in the 1990s, of cultural and information representation of Ukraine in Bulgaria within the framework of cultural and humanitarian cooperation as inherited from the Soviet system.
