The thesis reveals the legal nature and essence of the law enforcement function of the State. The range of subjects exercising the law enforcement function of the State are described and the place of the NPU’s bodies among them is established. The legal status of the NPU as an implementer of the law enforcement function of the State is described. The principles of implementing the law enforcement function of the State by the NPU’s bodies are defined and classified. The general legal principles of implementing the law enforcement function of the State by the NPU’s bodies are described. The range of the special principles of implementing the law enforcement function of the State by the NPU’s bodies are identified. The foreign experience of implementing the enforcement function of the State by the police is generalised and the possible ways of its application in the context of improving principles of implementing the law enforcement function of the State by the NPU’s bodies are elaborated. The ways of improving administrative legislation of Ukraine as a form of implementing the law enforcement function by the NPU’s bodies are provided.
