Mandych O. Substantiation of inflammatory periodontal diseases prevention during orthodontic treatment of dental rows anomalies in young people

The aim of this dissertation is to increase the prevention effectiveness of the inflammatory periodontal diseases in young people during orthodontic treatment of dental rows anomalies. A high prevalence of periodontal disease in young people with a cluster of teeth, in the structure of which was dominated by inflammatory periodontal disease, in particular chronic catarrhal gingivitis (p <0,001). The incidence of periodontal disease and chronic catarrhal gingivitis reached maximum values ​​in subjects who were undergoing orthodontic treatment. It is investigated that in the occurrence and progression of inflammatory periodontal diseases in young people a significant role is played by the presence of anomalies of the dentition, in particular the congestion of the teeth, which is especially exacerbated during orthodontic treatment. Based on the indicators of clinical, microbiological research and analysis of functional occlusion, a scheme for the prevention of inflammatory periodontal diseases in orthodontic treatment of dentition anomalies was developed, which included professional oral hygiene in patients with a phase-dependent frequency depending on the number and type of dental plaque, and also proposed a method of orthodontic treatment with individually made caps, which improved oral hygiene, elimination of microbial factors and normalization of functional occlusion and contributed to high clinical results in 1, 6 and 12 months to 91% observations.
