The thesis aims to explore communicative-pragmatic and cognitive-discursive aspects of celebrities’ communicative behavior in English media discourse. The survey of the main approaches as for the typology of interview genres and the place of the profile interview in the media discourse is realised. Celebrities’ self-presentation is originally analysed on English interviews in terms of gender factor. The original classification of styles and tactics of self-presentation is suggested. Calculation of distribution of self-presentation tactics in terms of gender is implemented. The method of statistical verification of hypotheses (Student’s t-test) for comparing the data from two independent samples (respondents of different gender) is applied. The celebrity’s auto-image structure is designed, common and distinctive features of communicative self-presentation and language means of its actualization in terms of gender are identified.
