The dissertation thesis is devoted to the study of the socio-psychological factors of adaptation of rural youth to education in higher educational institutions of the I and II level of accreditation, the creation and testing of a program of measures aimed at promoting the adaptation of young people of rural origin to education in higher education institutions taking into account socio-psychological factors. Differential influence of socio-psychological factors on young people from rural sociocultural environment is revealed. The main socio-psychological factors of adaptation of rural youth to training, to which the factor of the new educational environment, the new socio-psychological environment, the new information and cognitive space and the factor of the professional environment, were identified. A comprehensive approach of empirical study of socio-psychological factors of adaptation of rural youth to training in HEE (Higer Educational Establishments) was proposed, comparative assessment of personality traits of rural and urban students was carried out, personality traits affecting the effectiveness of the adaptation process were described according to the estimates of students and teachers, comparative analysis of the personal profile of rural and urban students was carried out. It has been found that rural and urban youth respond differentially to the impact of socio-psychological factors. In addition, an analysis of the circumstances complicating the life of students showed the great negativity of the influence of socio-psychological factors on the adaptation process of rural youth. An effective programme of measures has been proposed to promote the adaptation of rural youth to higher education, taking into account socio-psychological factors. This program of measures was aimed to promote the adaptation of rural youth to study in higher education institutions, taking into account socio-psychological factors. The program of formative influence was planned in the general and special directions. The general direction provided for the creation of a program of purposeful work of the administration, teaching staff and psychological service in the direction of optimizing the process of adaptation of rural youth to the new socio-psychological and information environment. The special direction required the implementation of developmental work of socio-psychological training, which contributed to the psychological adaptation of rural students to the new social environment, the formation of skills of constructive communication and effective interaction, increase self-esteem and perseption of other individuals.
