Essay

The work contains a comprehensive analysis of doctrinal provisions, documents that form the foundation of the Catholic doctrine of society and social nature and the mission of the Catholic Church in the context of the Holy Father's legacy, its conciliar acts as well as Church policy, aggiornamento, approved by the Catholic world. The formulated elements of novelty and generalizing conclusions and definitions have not only theoretical but also practical significance. They are designed to provide answers to the questions and demands of social justice, the common good, the economy, politics, interfaith dialogue, the social organization of national and ethnic communities, the role of the state in these processes and shared responsibility for the world and prospects for its existence. The main research focus is on a comprehensive study of the genesis, objective patterns of development and constant renewal of the Catholic doctrine as it relates to the public mission of the Church. The methodological basis is built on both general educational as well as specifically religious methods and principles of research, due to which a thorough analysis was performed of the content of the Catholic doctrine of society and formulated practical mechanisms for implementing ecclesiastical programs of social service of the Catholic Church and its socio-communicative mandate. According to the results of the dissertation research: the sources of the Catholic doctrine of society are classified and systematized; methodological principles of studying the socio-communicative mandate of the Catholic Church in historical retrospect and at the present stage of socio-cultural transformations and civilizational development of mankind are determined; the genesis and interpretation of the specifics of the structural and functional nature of the Catholic doctrine of society in the context of the biblical definition of the principles of social service and its confessional interpretation are revealed and explained; the content and praxeological potential of the concept of social diakonia as one of the most perfect forms of philanthropic activity and service to others are revealed; the influence of Catholic social doctrine on the social mission of local (national) churches of Roman jurisdiction, including as a means of inter-Christian dialogue and the development of the ecumenical movement is clarified; the role and place of socio-political factors in the process of intensification of public service of the Catholic Church in modern Ukraine and the leading trends of Catholic policy in the relationship in its relationship and interaction on the social service of the Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church are determined; mechanisms of interaction and realization of the social doctrine of Catholicism and Orthodoxy in Ukraine are revealed.
