Essay

The dissertation is devoted to the main topic in modern orthopedic dentistry - optimization of methods in prevention and treatment of complications in patients with diabetes who use full removable plate prostheses. To achieve this goal, 184 patients were examined, treated and monitored: 71 males and 113 females, ranging in age from 45 to 74 years. Changes in the rheological properties of oral fluid were studied and was found the decrease in salivation rate, increase in its viscosity, shift of acid-base balance towards acidosis, increase in mucin content, total protein and decrease in lysozyme activity in oral fluid of patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus after orthopedic treatment with complete removable plate prostheses. There was a significant increase in oral fluid stressors: glucose, cortisol and alpha-amylase, which provoke increased hyposalivation, which complicates and significantly prolongs the period of adaptation to complete removable plate prostheses. Based on clinical, biochemical and biophysical indicators were developed, tested and established the effective treatment and prevention complex, which included both general purpose (vitamin-mineral complex Alphabet Diabetes, "Sedafiton") and local measures (anti-inflammatory elixir Lizomukoid, Dentaid Xeros gel). Key words: complete removable plate prosthesis, diabetes mellitus, treatment and prevention complex. Branch - medicine.
