Essay

The thesis paper is devoted to synthesis, research on the structure and properties of compounds of polyoxoanions with derivatives of purine and pyrimidine series. For the first time, 16 new compounds of polyoxometalates with purine alkaloids and pachycarpine salt have been synthesized and isolated individually. The composition and structure of the obtained compounds were established by the methods of thermogravimetric analysis, IR-, UV-spectroscopy, amperometric analysis, ionometric determination, and molar conductivity. For seven compounds, the structure was established by direct X-ray diffraction analysis on a single crystal. Luminescent properties were also established using absorption and radiation spectra; anti-radical properties were established by studying the interaction with free radicals. The synthesized crystal hydrates of polyoxomolybdates and polyoxometalates (central atoms in the anionic part – P, Si) with cations of purine derivatives (1,3,7 - trimethylxanthine, 3,7 - dimethylxanthine and 1,3 - dimethyxanthin) were investigated by spectroscopic method in UV, which allowed proving the interaction of polyoxometalates with organic nitrogen-containing cations. By means of electrochemical research methods (amperometric titration, potentiometric analysis) it was possible to establish the ratio of the reacting components of the compound and to determine the cation charge. The results obtained were necessary for further studies of this manuscript. Since the components of these compounds show biological activity, the interaction of some synthesized compounds with artificial radicals was studied. The results obtained showed that these compounds have an antiradical effect. Therefore, the new compounds of polyoxometalates with nitrogen-containing organic cations can be used as medication to inhibit free radicals in the pharmaceutical industry and biomedicine. The considered supramolecular interactions in the synthesized supramolecules determine the importance of crystalline compounds of hybrid type for understanding and progress of supramolecular chemistry. Therefore, the study on noncovalent interactions in supramolecular systems is an important aspect of understanding, designing and synthesizing new complex supramolecules which are important for different fields of chemistry. The research results were used in the preparation of lecture and practical courses for chemistry students of higher educational institutions.
