Essay

The dissertation is devoted to the history of the British Labour Party in 1893-1931. The main attention is paid to the study of the origins of the party, the study of the instruments of struggle for the electorate. The level of scientific development of the topic is investigated; the main reasons for the increase in the number of members of the Labour Party after 1918 are analyzed. The paper investigates the transformation of the "geography" of the electorate of the Labour Party, examines changes in party tactics and party programs, establishes the ratio of the number of women candidates from the Labor Party in elections in comparison with liberals and conservatives. It has been proven that the Labour Party has gone from a “small pressure group” in the British parliament to a powerful national-level political party that has replaced the Liberals in the traditional two-party system in Great Britain.
