Essay

The dissertation presents the improving the diagnosis of systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE) through the detection of cytomegalovirus (CMV) and Epstein-Barr virus (EBV), characteristics of the phases of infection and their frequency, depending on sex, age, duration and activity of the disease in patients and the assessment of the diagnostic value of clinical and laboratory indicators of comorbid lesions of internal organs in patients with active infections. An analysis of CMV and EBV was performed and it was found that a significant proportion of patients with SLE are infected with these viruses and found that 53.33 % of patients have viruses in the active phase. The relationship between the increase in the activity of SLE and the incidence of active CMV and EBV infections has been demonstrated, and a significantly higher rate of SLEDAI activity in patients with these active infections has been determined. The clinical and laboratory indicators of comorbid lesions of the internal organs in patients with SLE turned out to be of high diagnostic value for the detection of active CMV infection, active EBV infection and combination of active CMV and EBV infections were described. Constellations of clinical and laboratory parameters with the highest indicators of sensitivity, specificity and accuracy for detection of active CMV and EBV infections in patients with SLE were determined.
