Burlaka V. Forensic characteristics and the initial stage of the investigation of illegal imprisonment or kidnapping

The paper comprehensively investigates the methods of preparation, direct commission and concealment of illegal imprisonment or kidnapping, identity of the offender, victim, typical traces, place and time of the crime. Features of detection of criminal offenses of this category, typical investigative situations, investigative versions, programs of actions of the investigator at the initial stage of investigation of illegal imprisonment or kidnapping, features of interaction of the investigator with operational divisions in the course of this activity have been revealed. Recommendations on the tactics of investigative (search) actions, as well as the use of special knowledge in the investigation of crimes under Art. 146 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine have been formulated. Based on this of the specific method of investigation of illegal imprisonment or kidnapping have been formulated and proposals for improving legislation have been developed.
