This thesis is dedicated to the research of modern bandura art based on instrumental and vocal-instrumental music for bandura dated ХХ–ХХІ centuries in the context of expressing contemporary performance methods and techniques. A rapid development of bandura creativity in the second part of ХХ–ХХІ centuries is related not only to improvements of traditional performance, but also with expansion of ex-21 pressing bandura possibilities, due to appearance of new performance methods and techniques. Modified traditional and new means of expression, is a trending topic of modern bandura art. Nowadays, in the toolbox of bandura performer there is a vague set of technical methods, which give opportunity to solve multicomponent tasks to decode the author’s idea of certain plays. The repertoire of academic bandura performer is difficult to imagine without including in its modern musical works, which widely use sound tone expressing palette of an instrument and which allows to demonstrate precedents of new bandura performing. The last one significantly deepens the process of bandura professionalization, which, in general, is typical indiscriminately for all the instruments of folk nature. Its gradualism and connection with composers and instrumentalists’ co-creativity are visibly changing with esthetic composers’ views on indicative bandura potential. There is a redefinition of traditional means of expression, thanks to prolonged cooperation of composers and performers. We become the witnesses of new performing methods, which are destined to reproduce the experimental timbral and sound possibilities.
