Essay

The dissertation work is devoted to the study of antibiotic resistance and the ability to biofilm formation of microorganisms isolated from children in the departments of a cardiac surgery hospital. Based on the research, new data on the species composition of the spectrum of opportunistic pathogens isolated from different habitats of children, their biological properties and antibiotic resistance have been supplemented. Peculiarities of antibiotic resistance spectra of clinically significant pathogens have been established. In studying the process of biofilm formation, the ability of K. pneumoniae strains to form a biofilm in vitro and to develop resistance to all groups of antimicrobial drugs was studied. Molecular genetic methods have shown that beta-lactam antibiotic-resistant strains of K. pneumoniae have cerytin genes of resistance. It was found that the use of a modified nutrient medium blood agar (KA) allowed to speed up the process of identification of demanding microorganisms.
