Dissertation features verbalization peculiarities of CULTURE conceptosphere in the modern English language. The study presents linguocognitive approach to the notion "culture" that is interpreted as a multicomponent phenomenon relating to a broad variety of human activities. According to the study, basic components of CULTURE conceptosphere include creative potential, professional culture, communication culture, social culture. Based on selected lexical units, such spheres as literature, visual art, show business, fashion and virtual culture are in the focus.
Сognitive approach is the most effective tool for the conceptosphere verbalization analysis, due to which its components are perceived as complex systems formed during the mental activity of an individual in the form of its objectified part, fragments of previous experience, patterns, schemes, gestalts, which allows conceptual reflection of verbalized elements of culture in the form of a hierarchical structure. Extrapolation of the tools of linguosynergetics makes it possible to trace the mechanisms of self regulation and self organization of the presented conceptosphere, which strives for a state of equilibrium, and to outline the processes leading to order in a dynamic cognitive system with a complex multi component structure modeled by means of linguocognitive studies.
Due to the methodology developed by A. M. Prykhodko, the term "field" is expanded to exclude from the parametric palette the nuclear peripheral principle to demonstrate the integrity of the system and the hierarchical structure of CULTURE conceptosphere. The system structure of the conceptosphere, the components of which are hyperconcepts, hypoconcepts, mesoconcepts and kataconcepts, is proposed for consideration.
In the study conceptual formations at the hyper level are located by the quantitative growth of lexical content: FASHION – 14 % of innovations, LITERATURE – 16 % of innovations, VISUAL ART – 18 % of innovations, SHOW BUSINESS – 20 % of innovations and VIRTUAL CULTURE – 32 % of innovations.
It is deemed that the whole conceptual system is in a state of vibration due to the strong connection with the hyperconcept VIRTUAL CULTURE, the components of which ensure the emergence and functioning of attractors with man made content. The size and potential directions of development of the hyperconcept VIRTUAL CULTURE are not determined, as evidenced by the reassessment of the importance of this mental entity in the study of the concepts’ verbalization.
The analysis of the lexical content of the selected hyperconcepts showed the regularity between the formation of new nominations and the inversion relations of the whole conceptual system with the hyperconcept VIRTUAL CULTURE. It was revealed that the number of terms directly related to the virtual world, which are part of the conceptual entity, affects the growth of its quantitative lexical content (formation of neologisms that are indirectly related to new technologies).
It was established that the development of the conceptual system of the modern English speaking culture has stochastic features – the value parameters predetermined by previous generations have completely lost their positions (elitism / mass, spirituality / materiality), a linear vision of cultural processes is not possible because of inverse connections with the massive cultural component – virtual culture.
