The object of research: local medications for the treatment of acne vulgaris, HEC, new gel compositions based on HEC. The purpose of research microbiological substantiation of the prospect of using carbon dioxide hop extract in the development of antimicrobials to increase the effectiveness of treatment of acne vulgaris. Research methods: microbiological (study of antibacterial and antifungal activity of samples of carbon dioxide hop extract and gel compositions developed on its basis, study of the rate of formation of resistance in microorganisms to HEC against bacteria (S. aureus, P. acnes) and fungi Malassezia spp.), technological, physical and physicochemical (determination of organoleptic characteristics, pH, homogeneity, rheological properties, osmotic activity, thermal stability of the new gel composition), morphological and mathematical-statistical (processing of the obtained data using the Microsoft Excel 2016 application package with evaluation of the values of antimicrobial activity of the studied samples of HEC and gel compositions based on it with the comparison drug). Equipment: microscope Biolam P2-1, LOMO (Russia) and Lieca (Germany), scales laboratory electronic ANG 200 C 2 cl (Poland), Densi-La-Meter II, Pliva-Lachema Diagnostika, ionometer universal EV-74 (Ukraine), rotary viscometer "Reotest-2" (Germany), a device for determining the osmotic activity of the gel company "Hoechst" (Germany), measuring ruler metal GOST 427 - 56, caliper, pipette measuring: 1.0 ml, 2.0 ml, 5, 0 ml, 10.0 ml, GOST 20292 - 74, glass thermometer TS-7-M1, PJSC "Glass Device"(Ukraine). Therefore, the aim of the work was to provide a microbiological substantiation of the prospects for the use of HEC in the development of an antimicrobial agent to improve the efficiency of the treatment of acne vulgaris. For the first time, a moderate formation of the resistance rate of P. acnes and lipophilic fungi of the genus Malassezia, to HEC was established. A series of medicinal compositions in the form of gel with different qualitative and quantitative content of HEC and excipients for the treatment of acne vulgaris has been developed. Experimentally determined the antimicrobial properties of the created compositions, museum test strains of bacteria and fungi, selected the most promising composition with the optimal composition. The antimicrobial action of the most promising sample of the gel composition was studied in relation to the main clinical causative agents of acne vulgaris. Morphological changes in the skin of male 3-month-old Wistar rats under the conditions of acne vulgaris complicated by wound infection and the action of the optimal composition of the gel composition with HEC 1% were determined. The obtained results of scientific research on the antimicrobial properties of the new gel composition based on НEC against the main pathogens of acne vulgaris are used in the curricula of higher medical institutions of the Ministry of Health of Ukraine. The extent of implementation: 4 acts of implementation, 2 Ukrainian patents for the utility model. The field (industry) of use: healthcare (medicine: microbiology, immunology, infectious diseases).
