Essay

The dissertation reveals the ways of development of the bagatelle genre in the piano works of modern Ukrainian composers, determines the individual stylistic races of the piano rich in the variety of compositional interpretations of the rich genre. The presence of the piano bagatelle in the works of Ukrainian composers from the XIX century and the peculiarities of its development at the present stage, which opens the possibility to trace the genesis of the Ukrainian bagatelle from the traditional play-"trifle" to the musical microcosm in the bagatelle style of V. Silvestrov. There is an active interest of Ukrainian composers at the turn of the XX-XXI centuries to the bagatelle genre, which contributes to its significant development in the field of piano. The analyzed samples of piano bagatelle of domestic composers demonstrate the diversity of composer's interpretations of the bagatelle genre and provide grounds for their typology in accordance with the individual style of each composer and the artistic concept of a musical work. Thus, the presented samples of bagatelle cycles of Ukrainian composers form the following genre-style types of piano bagatelle: romantic miniature (V. Kireiko), bagatelle-landscape (B. Stronko), bagatelle-stylization (P. Zakharov, I. Stepanova-Borovska), concert bagatelle (L. Shukailo), bagatelle-performance (O. Shmurak). V. Silvestrov's bagatelle style is singled out as a unique author's concept of the Ukrainian composer's musical creativity, which has acquired universal significance in the scale of his creative thinking in general. The main features of V. Silvestrov's bagatelle style at the level of compositional structure, musical language and content of his macrocycle of bagatelles "Cycle of cycles" are highlighted. V. Silvestrov's piano bagatelles are defined as a unique example of rethinking the structural-compositional and musical-semantic norms of bagatelles as a genre type of instrumental miniature. The need for a special study of the performing and interpretive aspect of the bagatelle genre in the work of V. Silvestrov is proved, which is due to the unclaimed huge array of rich recognized Ukrainian classics in modern performing practice.
